In addition to expanding production and diversifying products, Ferme Givskud Farm also invested in
the construction and expansion of potato storages. The potato warehouse was extended by 100’ x 80’ and the office
was also widened. With the new technology involved in planting, harvesting and storing potatoes, these warehouses were
modernized over the years and equipped with new refridgeration units.
Ferme Givskud Farm is always on
the look out for new equipment to help increase production level but more importantly, to produce quality products.
Since the beginning, the potato is the main source of revenue for the business. One of the major goals is to buy more
land to produce more quality potatoes, continue to do crop rotation and develop new markets.
Ferme Givskud Farm continues to expand. In 2000 they built a large potato storage that will accommodate
7.6 million pounds of potatoes. In 2003 they built a green house 50 ft. X 90 ft. which allows them to produce their own nuclear
seed and the same year they build a storage that accommodates 5.5 million lbs of potatoes. This storage is equipped with a
cooling unit that allows them to store potatoes year around for processing.
The total storage capacity on the
Givskud farm is over 18million lbs.
